Mamma Mia! returns to Edinburgh for a joyous four-week run, perfectly timed for the festive season.

This theatrical phenomenon delivers an explosion of bright costumes, sun-drenched colours, and the irresistible hits of ABBA that will have you tapping your feet from the opening number.

The wedding date is set and the picturesque island taverna is almost ready, but one crucial element is missing: the father to walk Sophie down the aisle.

Driven by curiosity, Sophie delves into her mother’s old diary, unearthing the names of three former lovers. She secretly invites all three men to the sunny Grecian island, setting the stage for the hilarious and chaotic pre-wedding antics of this beloved jukebox musical.

The cast brings an infectious energy to the exhilarating songs. Both leading ladies – Lydia Hunt (Sophie) and Jenn Griffin (Donna) – offer vocal performances that rival those of the London West End production.

Griffin’s emotive delivery of ‘The Winner Takes It All’ left the audience in silence, truly moved by the raw power the song was written to convey.

The comedic duo of Rosie and Tanya was perfectly embodied by Rosie Glossop and Marisa Harris. Harris, in particular, was born for this role; her glamour and confidence resulted in a stunning execution of ‘Does Your Mother Know’, which elicited uproarious laughter from the audience.

Adapted from Catherine Johnson’s book, this latest tour of the smash-hit musical features Mark Thompson’s magnificent design, with the staging and set masterfully utilising the vast space of the Edinburgh Playhouse.

Carlton Edwards’ band creates an immediate, amplified impact from the overture’s first beat, filling the theatre with sound.

This touring sensation is a must-see for long-time fans and newcomers alike. S.O.S! Don’t miss your chance—book your tickets before it’s too late!
